Meditating on Love
A Retreat for Beginners
Date & time: February 13-14 | Teacher: Gen Kelsang Mondrub |
This day course is designed for beginner meditators or anyone interested in genuinely improving their good heart. This weekend will also help integrate and deepen what we are learning in our Food for Thought classes on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. By taking time away from our regular routine to engage in a weekend of meditation on loving-kindness, we can induce a deep change of heart and improve all our relationships.
In reality, love has the power to fulfill all our own and others’ wishes. It is by nature limitless, and lacks the ability to create problems. Buddha said that everyone without exception has this latent potential within them – a good heart.
We can see that love is the source of all hope and happiness. Yet we also see that few people understand what love truly is, and hence experience endless problems. Many even believe love is a source suffering, and resign themselves to quiet dissatisfaction in their relationships. They remain inwardly or outwardly frustrated, anxious and disheartened. In order to experience its wondrous benefits, we need to learn how to actually love one another.
Love will heal and improve all our relationships directly and indirectly – from the past, at home, at work and even in the way we interact in business. Relationships are what make our world; how we relate to others IS our world.
Some benefits you can gain from this retreat:
• Overcome feelings of being “closed-down,” and develop a warmer and friendlier attitude
• Overcome fears of rejection and loneliness, and feel more connected to others
• Overcome possessiveness, and respond to conflict in calmer, more constructive ways
• Become happier with ourself and others
• Progress towards emotional freedom, and be a positive influence in our world
• Discover our limitless potential
We will discover through our own experience that this precious mind of love is the real wish-granting jewel because it fulfills the pure wishes of both ourself and all living beings. –Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, from Transform Your LifeRegister for this event now!
