Building Temples for World Peace

A Buddhist Temple is a unique place, a blessed and holy place. It is a place that will have a positive influence on millions of people now and in the future, a perfect environment for the growth of true human qualities such as love, compassion and wisdom A Temple is a source of peace for everyone - a focus of world peace.

As Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso says, "Just looking at a Temple with a happy mind places good imprints on our mind and brings inner peace. Through the power of this special object, problems such as anger and attachment are reduced."

The International Temples Project

The International Temples Project was established by Venerable Geshe Kelsang in the early nineties. The vision is to build a Kadampa Temple for World Peace in every major city in the world. The project is funded entirely by voluntary donations and revenue from International Buddhist Festivals.

A vision for the Southeast

Since opening its doors in Atlanta, Rameshori Buddhist Center has rented a space to house the teachings of Kadam Dharma, and serve the community in the southeast. Despite the limitations of space the Center has grown exponentially in the last years.

Now we have the opportunity to create a permanent home for Kadam Dharma in Atlanta. It is our vision at Rameshori Buddhist Center to build a Temple that serves as a place of refuge for all beings. For this purpose we have created the Field of Merit Fund. It is a special savings fund dedicated to the purchase of a Kadam Temple for the Southeast.

The generation of this vision is a gradual process of continuous fundraising efforts. And given the conditions of the real estate market in Atlanta, it will most likely involve the purchase of a interim property to serve as a center, and collateral for a future Temple.

With this vision in mind our Fundraising Committee encourages you to participate in our fundraising campaigns by getting involved at any level:

Annual Fundraising Dinner

We invite you to bring your family and friends to our annual fundraising dinner event. Save the date for May 18, 2008 at 6:00pm at Anthony's Fine Dining Restaurant in Buckhead. Details to follow.

Dedicate

Dedications are by nature a virtuous mental factor; it is the virtuous intention that functions both to prevent accumulated virtue from degenerating and to cause its increase. By dedicating your merit and virtues to the happiness of all living beings, specially the flourishing of pure Kadam Dharma in the southeast you will be multiplying your good qualities and increasing your karma for good conditions

If you feel you have any special talents or resources we could use for our Capital Campaing please contact our Administrative Director, Mayra Cuevas- Nazario, at admin@meditationforeveryone.org.
