Kadampa Meditation Center Georgia

Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible. – Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

The Kadampa Meditation Center Georgia (KMC GA) is part of the International Kadampa Buddhist Union and is dedicated to world peace. The Center provides an inspiring and tranquil environment for meditation and is considered a sanctuary for people in Atlanta and the Southeast. KMC GA is conveniently located in North Atlanta in the Sandy Springs community, a short distance from the MARTA North Springs station.

At KMC GA, visitors will find an in-city oasis with a charming old Southern manor set amidst two wooded acres. There is a large meditation room featuring many beautiful Buddhist statues that provides an inspiring setting for a number of classes, workshops, and retreats. A small gift shop carries Buddhist literature & inspirational items. The welcoming atmosphere makes one feel at home, and there are many areas for socializing and enjoying a cup of tea while meeting new spiritual friends. A spacious patio in the back overlooks a serene, natural setting. The Center also provides housing for a small community of practitioners who have chosen to live a meaningful life dedicated to service and spiritual development.

Everyone is welcome to visit and enjoy this very special place.

KMC GA, was founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso as a non-profit organization and member of the New Kadampa Tradition-International Kadampa Buddhist Union. The New Kadampa Tradition is a western Buddhist tradition with no political affiliations that follows the pure Mahayana Buddhist teachings of Atisha (AD 982 - 1054) and Je Tsongkhapa (AD 1357 - 1419), as presented for contemporary society by modern-day Buddhist master, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso (b. 1931). The Center's purpose is to introduce the Buddhist faith by offering classes on meditation and Buddhism for all levels of interest and experience, as well as to exemplify Buddhist faith and practice through public service.
