Fresh and clean: Breathe new life into your Dharma practice through training in mindfulness

Sometimes it feels that we have no direction in our lives; everything seems so heavy and complicated – not the life we imagined. Buddha teaches however, that our life has almost limitless potential!

It's wonderful to receive teachings on increasing our inner peace and opening our heart and mind to this potential, however, we easily forget what and how to practice these teachings in daily life. A "practice" is something we can develop. It does not come naturally because we are more familiar with giving in to our bad mental habits, such as anger, attachment and ignorance.

This month we will train our mind to develop and maintain our path of inner peace and gain freedom from the mundane, everyday life we have grown weary of. We will hit the "refresh" button and enjoy each moment of our life. This month we will use Buddha's teaching on the "Five Forces" to gain the confidence and energy we need to keep our practice consistent. By learning to appreciate the special opportunity we have, we will find the inspired life we long for – a peace filled life that makes a difference to others and to the world.

This series will also prepare us for receiving the Blessing Empowerment of Buddha Maitreya as well as our Annual Alabama Retreat in June where we will meditate deeply on The Great Scope meditations, from The New Meditation Handbook by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, which include "learning how to cherish others" to "universal compassion" and beyond.

Classes include meditation, teaching, and partner/group discussion. Everyone is welcome!
