Food for Thought brings to your neighborhood a more casual and relaxing approach to learning practical yet inspiring methods for a happy life as taught by Buddha...methods that will solve our daily problems, help develop peace of mind under any circumstances, show how to keep a happy heart in all relationships good or bad, and offer a special wisdom that can transform every experience into a rich spiritual path. In the same way that Buddha taught each individual according to their personal inclination and capacity, Food for Thought is intended to reach out and offer something for everyone, at any level of interest. Each week will explore various topics depending on your interests, such as:

  • What does it mean to be a Buddhist?
  • What really matters?
  • What is the mind?
  • What is meditation and how does it Work?
  • What is happiness and where does it come from?
  • Where do problems come from?
  • How do I integrate spiritual practice into daily life?
  • Is world peace possible?
  • What are anger and attachment?
  • How do I live fully?
  • How do I develop stable and harmonious relationships?
  • What is true confidence?
  • What is karma?
  • What is non-harmfulness?
  • Reincarnation - believe it or not?
  • How do I overcome depression and discouragement?
  • How do I overcome bad habits and enjoy the process?
  • How can I trust a spiritual path?
  • Are spiritual teachers and teachings necessary?
  • What is faith that's not blind?
  • What is liberation?
  • What are true love and compassion?
  • What is the best way to benefit others?
  • What is emptiness versus nothingness?
  • What is Tantra?
  • What is enlightenment?

...or anything you've ever wanted to know about Buddhism, but perhaps were afraid to ask!!!

Join American Buddhist nun Kelsang Shewang for some informal meditation, meaningful discussion, and entertaining question and answer time. Maybe you can ask something you've always wanted to know about Buddhism but were afraid to go through the doors of a Buddhist Center to ask. Food for Thought is a light, clean, and most rewarding evening of fun. Most nights conclude with some social time to meet like-minded people...with food for the body, too!
