We are currently studying Eight Steps to Happiness. This inspiring book explains how to meditate on eight beautiful verses that comprise one of Buddhism’s best-loved teachings, Eight Verses for Training the Mind. Composed by the great Tibetan Bodhisattva Geshe Langri Tangpa, this short poem shows how we can transform all life’s difficulties into valuable spiritual insights. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso now shares this ancient wisdom with all those seeking meaning and lasting happiness in their modern lives. No need to attend all classes. Drop in anytime.

The Pensacola Kadampa Buddhist Group's evening of meditations is changing it's schedule starting in August. Finding a little time each day to go for refuge or to sit in meditation will create wonderful merit and peace of mind. Take a little time and join members of the Sangha as we come together and work to create even more positive merit for ourselves, our loved ones and our community as a whole. This month the mediations will be on August 10th and 24th. They start at 7:00 p.m. and will last generally for 45-60 minutes. Stay afterwards for tea and coffee and warm discussion. Offerings for the altar are alway welcome.
Gen Kelsang Mondrub returns Saturday, September 25
Kadampa Meditation Center of Georgia Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Mondrub will once again be visiting us here in Pensacola on Saturday, September 25. We will start the day with Gen Mondrub speaking at the Barnes and Nobles on Airport Blvd. at 10:00 a.m. The discussion will be on guided meditations and how we can use them to change our minds for the positive. Relaxation, cherishing others and finding happiness are the three main themes found on the Guided Mediation Cd's that Gen Mondrub will be referencing. They are an easy way to add meditation into your spiritual practice if you haven't found the time already.
Following the talk at Barnes and Nobles, join us at 2:00 p.m. in the community room at the Pensacola Public Library on Gregory St. where Gen Mondrub will lead us in a mini meditation and discussion. It's a nice way to end the day with this opportunity to take part in a meditation and discussion with a wonderful spiritual teacher.
